Melt in your mouth sausages

The name describes it well. The sausage was awesome! It could easily be made without a slow cooker, but it definitely would not be as good. The recipe called for it to be cut into 5 inch pieces and served in rolls or to cut it up in pieces afterwards and serve over pasta. I opted to slice it into pieces before ever putting it into the slow cooker and served it over whole grain pasta with garlic bread on the side. The kids love spaghetti and garlic bread so this was great for them.

Melt In Your Mouth Sausages - slow cooker meal

2 - 3lbs of sweet Italian sausage

63 oz (or close to that size) jar of spaghetti sauce

6 oz can of tomato paste

1 large or 2 medium green peppers thinly sliced

1 large onion thinly sliced

2 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley

1 cup water

Place sausage in large skillet. Cover with water. Simmer 10 minutes. Drain. Cut into pieces of desired.

Combine all ingredients in slow cooker. Add sausage.

Cover. Cook on low 6 hours.

Serve in buns or over cooked pasta.
